My Fall Wardrobe Essentials: Vintage Sweaters (Part 2/3)

My Fall Wardrobe Essentials: Vintage Sweaters (Part 2/3)

This is the second post of a mini series about my fall wardrobe essentials: vintage sweaters. In this series I will show you how I blend the sweaters into my modern outfits.

Vintage Jacquard Sweater

So let’s look at the second vintage sweater! It is a multi-colour jacquard sweater with red rose and navy blue acorn pattern over white background. It does not have any labels: No fabric info, no brand, nothing. Given the pattern, my best guess is that it was made in 90s. I may be mistaken – if you know better, do tel me!

Here I wanted to create a colourful hipster look. Black skinny jeans were chosen as basic while teal TUK creepers and yellow frames added bright accents.

The yellow frames used to be eyeglasses with plastic lens. I bought them at a thrift store. I got attracted by the colour, and also I had been wanting to have eyewear accessories since forever. Since my vision is perfect, I never had a chance to spice my looks up with cool glasses. So I bought the glasses and simply removed the plastic lenses and kept the frames.

Behind The Scene Of The Jacquard Sweater Photoshoot

The day of the photoshoot was amazing. It was warm, sunny, the very Indian summer in its nutshell. I was planning to shoot two very different sweaters, so it was great to have a good weather (it is always great to have a good weather ahahaha!)

At first we headed to a baseball stadium, the same one where  the photos of the blue vintage sweater were taken. However, that day the local baseball teams were having a game, so the stadium was full of people. I hate doing photoshoots in crowded places, so we had to find some other site. We started wandering around the stadium in increasing circles, but the trees there were too green for a fall shoot. I had no idea where else to go – I always have troubles finding good sites for shootings. Then I saw a spot right next to a highway slope framed by tall grass and colourful wild grape vines. It looked a bit dirty… but it had quite a hipster-ish mood that fitted the outfit well. Also, the yellow-orange-red gradient of grape leaves invoked a very autumn feeling. I loved it! And we stopped and had fun playing with the vines and grass.
